About

Hi! I am Jasleen Kaur a.k.a Crossdalecassa

Welcome to my world

Covid-19 changed a lot of things in the world and brought about many new normals like face masks, sanitizing your hands like a psychotic Germophobe etc, but for me it brought the love for writing. I used to call myself a Lockdown Poet, because I really became one during the lockdown, but the passion for writing stayed with me forever, like how fragrance stays with a flower and keeps on spreading it wherever it goes. So, you can call me the Super Spreader of Poetry I guess πŸ˜†. I feel poetry is a two way mirror through which the readers can look into a Poet’s soul yet see themselves and their own emotions in the words being read. We all have our own struggles and journeys on this fast moving big blue rock and I say “There is a Poem for everyone” .

This blog is for all the poetry seekers who want to connect themselves with the words written from the heart. When I am not writing, you will find me reading a Novel, eating the most delicious Indian street food in the beautiful city of Jhansi, binge watching shows on Netflix, drinking Chaa(Indian Tea), talking/hanging with my close friends or watching a beautiful sunset from my roof. Below is a video I made when I started, this journey, hope you guys like it. – Crossdalecassa

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is you favorite food?

Rara Chicken, Tawa Chicken and definitely Gaaliyaa.

2. The most recent novel you read?

November 9: A Novel, By Colleen Hoover (P.S. – She is one of my most favorite authors 😊)

3. What is your most prized possession?

A religious pendant handed down by my Late Grandmother, i always have it around my neck and never take it off. Another one would be my friends, they are one of the most prized possessions I have earned.

4. What is your happy place?

Apart from Darbar Sahib(Golden Temple), on my roof watching the sunset, when the sky gets filled with all kind of red, orange and yellow colors, its like the Sun is painting a beautiful picture of its own farewell for the day. Apart from the heart melting colors, another reason I love the sunset is because after the sunset comes the moon, and who can resist a beautiful moon in a clear dark sky. There is something mesmerizing about the dark that surrounds us when the sun goes down, I find that darkness very calming because its the darkness all around that makes the moon shine brighter. So, we cant shine brighter until we embrace the darkness within, because in the end we are all made of star dust. ☺️
